An Intro to Ubuntu for Non-Techies

The NY Times has a good intro article on Ubunutu for any non-geek that's interested in learning what all the fuss is about.

That was a VERY interesting article. I did not know that Ubuntu was so much on the rise. It makes me want to do some more investigating!

Yeah, Ubuntu is an amazing story. I'd highly recommend checking out their actual software too. Its really quite easy to learn even for non-technical folks that predominantly use Windows or OS X.

sadly, its again yet another article on Microsoft vs Free software.

People dont seem to be able to absorb the entity that ubuntu has created in itself as opposed to the numerous other Open source Operating Systems, and even Windows.

People need to look beyond the "Oh, heres an alternative to windows" mindset. That'll be the time that I'll start appreciating articles on OSes like Ubuntu :)
